Empowered Parents

Be there for each other

Parenting groups for Bingley and surrounding areas.

I know that parenting can be hard at times. It can leave you feeling stressed, alone and like your efforts are not quite good enough.

As a therapist I believe that meeting other parents, sharing our experiences and taking some time out for ourselves in a supportive, non judgemental space can bring some much needed reassurance, offloading and new tips to take away.

That is why I have set up Empowered Parents. The groups will run for 1 hour 15 minutes from my counselling space in Eldwick.

I know that coming to a new group can be hard, especially if you are already having a  hard time with stuff in your life.  Groups will have a maximum of 6 people, including myself.  I will arrange a chat with you in person or over the phone before you attend a group so that you know a bit about me and feel that you will know someone when you come to your first few groups.

Coffee, Chill and Spill groups

Monthly catch up support group for parents and carers who are worried or finding it hard to support your child.  This is an informal group where you can get involved, or just sit quietly with a cuppa.  It's time out for you, time to offload, pick up some tips and an opportunity to feel connected to other parents in a safe, non judgemental space.

Facilitated by myself to offer professional support, sessions are only £10 a time and include a cuppa and some cake.

Time out for me groups

Parenting can be all consuming and hard work.  We can find ourselves at the bottom of a long list of things that need doing for other people.

Delivered once a week over 5 weeks, these sessions are an opportunity for you to take some time out for yourself.  Each week will have a key theme to work around.  Some weeks will be about sharing experiences, others will be time to get our creative side flowing (especially for those of us who think we are absolutely not creative!), every week you will learn something that you can take home, keep in your tool box and help you to feel like you have new options of how to look after yourself.

Group therapy is a great way to access some therapy time at a reduced cost.  5 sessions are £50 and run each half term of school.
